A form of remuneration received in the form of goods, products, or services, as an alternative to payment in cash. For example, the delivery of restaurant or daycare vouchers, free use of a car, or payment of pension plans or life insurance by the company is considered in-kind compensation. The delivery of shares or stakes in the company or other companies free of charge or at prices below market value is also considered payment in kind.
